About the Komfi Rider Marlin
The Marlin is a 4 mph boot scooter from Komfi-Rider, One Rehab's scooter brand. A dial on the tiller sets a lower top speed. The frame is aluminium, to keep the weight down. It has adjustable suspension front and rear, 230 mm (9 in) wheels and 11 cm of ground clearance. Its manual says to avoid long ramps and hills, long grass, loose gravel and rough off-road ground.
The seat is a deep foam seat that swivels, with armrests that adjust in width. The floor plate is shallow, which gives taller riders more leg room. The tiller has a wrap-around (delta) handlebar and adjusts in angle. There is a front LED light, a horn, a basket and automatic brakes. Some Marlins have pneumatic (air-filled) tyres and some have solid puncture-proof ones.
It comes apart without tools into five pieces: the basket, the front section, the rear section, the seat and the battery box. The heaviest piece weighs 11.9 kg, and the scooter weighs 35 kg without its battery. A tiller lock stops the steering swinging while you lift the front section.
The battery is lithium and lifts out in its battery box. You can charge it on the scooter, through a socket on the tiller, or off it, through the socket on the battery box. Each Marlin was sold with one of two batteries: the 21Ah Endurance (4.5 kg, up to 20 miles) or the 34Ah Epic (6.5 kg, up to 30 miles). Each listing says which battery that scooter has.
Komfi-Rider also makes the Marlin Sport, which goes up to 8 mph. That is a different model, and this page does not cover it.
