The Storm is a full-size road scooter, made for shopping trips and longer journeys on roads and pavements. As a Class 3 scooter it goes up to 8 mph on the road and 4 mph on pavements. Monarch give its range as up to 24 miles on a charge, depending on the ground and the rider's weight. Its two 75Ah lead acid batteries power a 1650W motor.

Front and rear suspension soften the ride, and the padded captain's seat is 53 cm wide and 50 cm deep. There is storage at the back for shopping and bags, front and rear lights, indicators and hazard lights, and a USB port.

This is a big, heavy scooter. It does not fold and weighs 150 kg with its batteries, so it suits someone with room to keep it and charge it at home. Monarch say it is not suitable for air, coach or cruise travel. Monarch give the maximum user weight as 30 stone, which is about 190 kg, and also as 203 kg: we show the lower figure.
