Before you buy a used Shoprider Cadiz

How fast does the Shoprider Cadiz go?

Up to 8 mph on the road. A high/low switch sets it to 4 mph, which is the legal limit on pavements. It is a Class 3 road scooter with lights, indicators and hazard lights.

How far will it go on a charge?

Up to 20 miles is the maker's figure. The distance you get depends on things like the rider's weight, hills, cold weather and the age of the batteries.

What is the maximum user weight?

160kg, or 25 stone.

Can it be taken apart for transport?

Yes. It comes apart into five pieces: the front chassis, rear chassis, seat and two batteries. Put together it weighs 100kg, and some pieces are heavy, so two people are best.

What kerbs and hills can it manage?

Kerbs up to 10cm (4 inches), taken straight on, and slopes up to 8 degrees. It has 13.5cm of ground clearance (the user manual's figure; Roma's page says 15cm).

How is it charged?

With an off-board charger that plugs into the socket on the tiller and into a wall socket. It switches off by itself when the batteries are full.
