Before you buy a used Jazzy Assist

How heavy is the Jazzy Assist?

15.9 kg without its battery. The 10Ah battery weighs a further 1.4 kg and the 20Ah a further 3 kg.

How far will it go?

Up to 13.6 km (about 8.4 miles) with the 10Ah battery, or up to 27.2 km (16.9 miles) with the 20Ah. These are Pride's figures with a 100 kg rider; Pride's sell sheet says 9 and 18 miles. A heavier rider, hills and the weather all shorten it.

Why does each listing look different?

It comes with either the 10Ah or the larger 20Ah battery, which changes how far it goes. Each listing says which battery that chair has, and its range.

How small does it fold?

Pride say it folds in 5 seconds, to 380 × 620 × 820 mm. It then rolls along like a suitcase. Check those measurements against your car boot.

What is the most it can carry, and can it manage kerbs?

It takes users up to 136 kg (21 st 5 lb). It climbs slopes up to 7° and gets over obstacles up to 25 mm, so you will need dropped kerbs.

What do the camera and sensors do?

The rear-view camera helps when reversing. EZ-Pass is Pride's turning assist for tight spaces and doorways, and the chair has two LiDAR motion sensors. They help you drive it: you are still in control and need to watch where you are going.
