Before you buy a used Excel Galaxy 4

How fast and how far does the Galaxy 4 go?

Up to 8 mph. Van Os gives a range of between 25 and 35 miles on a charge, varying with the rider's weight, battery condition, weather and ground. Its specification tables give 56 km (35 miles).

What is the maximum user weight?

160 kg (25 stone), by Van Os's figure. The seat is 51 cm wide and 46 cm deep.

How big and heavy is it?

Van Os gives it as 146 cm long, 65 cm wide and 130 cm high, and 127 kg with its batteries. Van Os calls it a maxi size road scooter.

Is the Galaxy 4 the same as the Excel Galaxy II?

As far as we can tell, yes. The Motability Scheme lists the four-wheel Excel Galaxy II as the Galaxy 4. It is not the three-wheel Galaxy II 3, and not the newer Galaxy EVO models.

Do they all have the same tyres?

Not always. Van Os offered solid tyres on the Shiraz Red, Gun Metal Grey and Lightning Blue scooters, so some may have solid tyres. Each listing says what that scooter has.
