The TGA Zest S is a Class 2 pavement scooter that comes apart into six pieces to go in a car boot. It goes up to 4 mph and up to 18 miles on a charge (TGA's manual; its product page says 20 miles). It carries riders up to 168 kg (26 st 6 lb), and has a captain's seat with a headrest, suspension front and rear and pneumatic tyres.

Before you buy a used Zest S
How fast and how far does the Zest S go?
Up to 4 mph, so it is a Class 2 pavement scooter. TGA's manual gives a range of up to 18 miles with a 14 stone rider; its product page says up to 20 miles. Hills, a heavier rider, cold weather and older batteries all shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
168 kg (26 st 6 lb) on TGA's product page. TGA's 2022 manual says 170 kg, so we show the lower figure. TGA gives both as 26.5 stone, which is a little over 168 kg.
Does it fold, and will it go in my car?
It does not fold, but it comes apart into six pieces for a car boot: the seat lifts off, the battery pack lifts out in two halves and the main chassis slides away from the rear subframe. The whole scooter weighs 79 kg; TGA does not give the weight of each piece.
How is it charged?
Plug the charger into the socket on the tiller or on the battery pack, so you can charge it on the scooter or with the battery pack lifted out. TGA's manual says a full charge can take up to 12 hours.
How is it different from the Zest and Zest Plus?
They are different models. The Zest S has the contoured captain's seat with a headrest and the highest weight limit of the three: 168 kg, against 160 kg for the Zest Plus and 135 kg for the Zest on TGA's product pages.
