Before you buy a used Breeze Midi 3
How fast and how far does the Breeze Midi 3 go?
Up to 8 mph on the road, and 4 mph on the slow setting for pavements. TGA's manuals give a range of up to 32 km (19 miles) on the standard batteries and up to 48 km (29 miles) on the long-range batteries; TGA's page says 25 and 35 miles. TGA says hills shorten the range a lot.
What is the maximum user weight?
20 stone (127 kg to 130 kg) on older machines, in TGA's older papers, and 135 kg (21 stone) on the current model, in TGA's page and manual. Check with us if you are near the lower limit.
How does it cope with kerbs and hills?
It climbs kerbs up to 10 cm, taken straight on. TGA's 2011 page said it can drive safely up a 9.5% slope (about 5°). TGA's current manual gives a maximum slope of 7° with a rider at the maximum weight, rising to 9° for a 90 kg rider (TGA's other papers say 17%, or 17° to 20°). TGA says not to go beyond its maximum slope.
How is it carried in a vehicle?
The seat comes off and the tiller lies flat to make it lower. TGA says the scooter and every part taken off must be strapped down, and no one should sit on it while it travels. It is up to 133 cm long without the rear box, and TGA's figures for its weight run from 110 kg to 136 kg.
How is it different from the Breeze Midi 4?
The Midi 3 has three wheels and the Midi 4 has four. TGA says three-wheel scooters are easier to steer and turn, which suits shopping. TGA's current manual gives the current Midi 3 a maximum user weight of 135 kg, against 150 kg for the Midi 4.
