Before you buy a used Sterling S800
How fast does the Sterling S800 go?
Up to 8 mph. It is a Class 3 scooter, so it can be used on the road as well as the pavement.
How far will it go on a charge?
Up to 50 km (31 miles) is the maker's figure, from its 70Ah lithium-ion battery. The ground, the rider's weight, how it is driven and the temperature all affect it. A full charge can take up to 12 hours.
What is the maximum user weight?
160 kg (25 st 2 lb). The seat is 508 mm wide and 430 mm deep.
What can it climb?
Kerbs and obstacles up to 100 mm and slopes up to 10 degrees. It has 100 mm of ground clearance.
Can it go in a car?
It is not a boot scooter: it is 1370 mm long and weighs 100 kg with its battery. The seat and headrest, and the basket if it has one, come off without tools. If it is carried in a vehicle, it should be secured by its mounting points, and you must not sit on it while it travels.
