Before you buy a used Q300M Mini

How narrow is the Q300 M Mini?

520 mm wide on 12-inch drive wheels, or 570 mm on 14-inch wheels. It turns on the spot, in a turning circle from 1120 mm, and is from 1060 mm long with a centre-mounted footplate, so it suits small homes, lifts and public transport.

Why does each listing look different?

Every Q300 M Mini is built to order for its first user: the top speed, batteries, seat size, powered tilt, lift, recline and legrests, and the footrests all vary. Each listing says what that chair has, and we're happy to go through it on the phone.

How fast does it go, and how far?

6, 8 or 10 km/h (3.7, 5 or 6.2 mph), depending on its motors. The range is up to 25 km with 41Ah batteries, and up to 31 km for the chair whatever its batteries (Sunrise's order forms; their UK page and brochure say up to 36 km with 56Ah). These are the maker's figures; the rider's weight, hills, the weather and using the powered seat all shorten it.

What can it climb?

Kerbs up to 50 mm on 12-inch drive wheels, 60 mm on 13-inch and 70 mm on 14-inch, and slopes up to 8 degrees. The spec table on Sunrise's UK page says kerbs up to 70 mm on 12-inch wheels and 100 mm on 14-inch.

What is the maximum user weight?

136 kg with an adult seat (SEDEO LITE or SEDEO PRO). The Teens seat is rated for 120 kg and the Kids seat for 75 kg.

Can it go in a car?

Not folded: it weighs from 103 kg with batteries. It suits a wheelchair accessible vehicle or a vehicle hoist, and it has been crash tested (ISO 7176-19).
