Sunrise Medical · rear-wheel drive powerchair
Used Sunrise Medical Q200R
The QUICKIE Q200 R is a compact rear-wheel drive powerchair from Sunrise Medical, for use indoors and out. It is the bigger sister of the Q100 R: a longer base, larger castors and a higher user weight limit of 136 kg (21 st 5 lb), so it copes better with hills, kerbs and uneven paths. Its base is 580 mm wide and it is from 1070 mm long, so it still suits narrow doorways and through-floor lifts.

Before you buy a used Q200R
How fast does the Q200 R go, and how far?
Up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph), or 10 km/h (6.2 mph) on a chair with the optional faster motors. Sunrise's owner's manual gives a range of about 30 km (18 miles), and their web page and brochure say up to 31 km (19 miles) on 55Ah batteries; on the 10 km/h motors the manual gives up to 29 km (18 miles). These are the maker's figures: the rider's weight, hills, kerbs, cold weather and older batteries all shorten them.
What is the maximum user weight?
136 kg (21 st 5 lb), including anything carried on the chair.
What can it climb?
Slopes up to 8 degrees. Kerbs up to 67 mm, says the spec sheet in Sunrise's owner's manual (their web page and brochure say 70 mm), or up to 100 mm on a chair with the optional kerb climber. The manual says never to climb or go down a kerb higher than 100 mm, and not to drive forwards down a kerb higher than 50 mm.
Will it fit round my home?
Its base is 580 mm wide (540 to 580 mm across the seat, depending on how the armrests are set) and it is 1070 to 1160 mm long with legrests. It turns within a 1700 mm circle, and Sunrise say it fits through-floor lifts.
Can it go in a car?
Sunrise say it can be hoisted in and out of a car. It weighs about 98 kg with batteries. The backrest folds down, leaving it 640 to 680 mm high, and the legrests and armrests come off. It is crash tested (ISO 7176-19), so the user can travel seated in it, facing forward, in a suitable wheelchair accessible vehicle.
