Before you buy a used Paris

How fast does the Shoprider Paris go?

Up to 4 mph. It is a Class 2 pavement scooter, so it is for pavements and pedestrian areas. Roma says to use the road only to cross between pavements.

How far will it go on a charge?

Roma gives up to 24 km, which is just under 15 miles (it also prints this as 16 miles). The rider's weight, rough ground, cold weather and the state of the batteries all shorten it.

What is the maximum user weight?

136 kg (21 st 5 lb).

Will it go in a car boot?

Roma says it fits the boot of most vehicles once it is taken apart. It comes apart without tools into five pieces: basket, seat, battery pack, front chassis and rear drive section. It weighs 56 kg in all; Roma's 2009 web page gave the heaviest piece, the main (front) chassis, as 16 kg.

How is it charged?

With a 3 amp off-board charger, on the scooter or with the battery pack lifted out. A full charge takes 8 to 12 hours. Roma says not to charge for longer than 12 hours.
