Quantum Rehab · mid-wheel drive powerchair
Used Quantum Rehab Q6 Edge Z
The Quantum Q6 Edge Z is a mid-wheel drive powerchair with 4-pole motors, built for rougher ground outdoors as well as tight turns indoors. It has six wheels on the ground, turns within 502 mm and carries up to 136 kg. Each chair was built to order for its first user, so the seat, the powered features and the top speed vary from chair to chair. Quantum stopped making it at the end of 2023.

Before you buy a used Q6 Edge Z
How fast does the Q6 Edge Z go, and how far?
6 mph was standard on UK chairs. Some were set to 4 mph, and some have Quantum's optional 8 mph motors. Quantum's spec sheet gives a range of up to 21 miles (20 miles with the 8 mph motors). That is the maker's figure: the user's weight, hills, cold weather and older batteries all shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
136 kg (21 st 5 lb). A chair set up with Quantum's paediatric option is rated for 54.4 kg.
Will it fit round my home?
It is 667 mm wide and 904 mm long without its front riggings. With its drive wheels in the middle, it turns within 502 mm.
What can it climb?
Obstacles up to 79 mm, going up or down, and slopes up to 6 degrees. Its lowest point is 64 mm off the ground, at the castor pivot.
Can it go in a car?
Not in a car boot: the base alone weighs 65 kg, and each battery about 23.6 kg. It has four tie-down points for securing it in a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
