Before you buy a used Edge 3 Stretto
How narrow is the Edge 3 Stretto?
520 mm (20.5 inches) wide on 12.5-inch drive wheels, which makes it one of the narrowest powerchairs. Bigger 14-inch wheels make it 552 mm, and knobbly tyres 571 or 603 mm.
Who is it for?
Its small size and tight 533 mm turning radius suit children, teenagers and smaller adults, and busy indoor spaces like classrooms and homes. It carries up to 136 kg (21 st 6 lb).
Why does each listing look different?
Every Stretto is set up for its first user: the seat and its size, powered tilt, recline, lift or legs, iLevel, the wheels, the batteries and the motors all vary. Each listing says what that chair has, and we're happy to go through it on the phone.
How fast does it go, and how far?
4 or 6 mph, depending on its motors, and up to 15 miles on a charge (the maker's figure, which depends on the batteries fitted, the rider's weight, hills and the weather).
What is iLevel?
An option that raises the seat by up to 12 inches while the chair can still drive, at up to 3.5 mph, so you can reach worktops and talk at eye level without stopping.
What can it climb?
Obstacles up to 89 mm (3.5 inches) and slopes up to 7.5 degrees, with 74 mm of ground clearance.
