Before you buy a used Komfi Rider QFold
How fast and how far does the QFold go?
Up to 4 mph, and up to 10 miles (16 km) on a charge with the standard 10Ah battery. That is the maker's figure, and it says the rider's weight and the ground affect it. The maker gives no range for the larger 20Ah or 21Ah battery some have.
What is the maximum user weight, and can it climb hills?
115 kg (18 st). Slopes depend on the rider's weight: the manual's chart gives only 0 to 2 degrees at 115 kg, 4 degrees at 80 kg and 6 degrees at 52 kg, the maximum in its specification table. So near the top weight limit, keep to level ground or very gentle slopes.
Will it go in a car, and how heavy is it?
It folds in one piece, without tools, to 1000 × 550 × 430 mm, so check that against your boot. It weighs 17.5 kg without the battery and 18.95 kg with it, and the battery lifts out. The manual suggests two people lift it, one at each end.
How is it charged?
With a 2A lithium charger. Lift the battery out and charge it indoors, or plug in at the tiller.
