Before you buy a used Komfi Rider Phoenix
How fast does the Phoenix go, and can I use it on the road?
Up to 8 mph, which makes it a Class 3 road scooter, so it can be used on the road as well as the pavement.
How far will it go on a charge?
Up to 25 miles, by Komfi Rider's figure. Hills, cold weather, a heavier rider and older batteries all shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
Komfi Rider's pages disagree. Its 2024 page says 21 stone (printed beside 136 kg). Its 2025 pages still say 21 stone at the top but 25 stone (158 kg) in the table, and its January 2026 page says 23.5 stone. To be safe, go by 21 stone (133 kg), or ask us before you buy.
Will it fit in my car?
It is not a boot scooter. It weighs 101 kg with its batteries, and Komfi Rider does not say that it comes apart for lifting.
How do I charge it?
Plug the 5 A charger into the charging port on the tiller.
