How fast and how far does the Xplorer go?
Up to 8 mph, which makes it a Class 3 road scooter. Range depends on the batteries fitted: up to 20 miles with two 12V 50Ah batteries, or up to 40 miles with two 12V 110Ah batteries. These are Motion Healthcare's figures; battery condition, weather, terrain and the rider's weight all affect them.
What is the maximum user weight?
31.495 stone (31 st 6 lb), the figure in Motion Healthcare's manual and flyer. Its product page and spotlight give 31.5 st. The seat is 55.9 cm wide.
Will it keep me dry and warm?
It has a fully enclosed cabin with car-style doors, sliding windows, a windscreen wiper and a fan heater that can also demist the windscreen. The manual says not to run the heater for more than 20 minutes at a time.
How big and heavy is it?
160 cm long, 104 cm wide and 162 cm high. It weighs 195.2 kg with the 50Ah batteries, or 230 kg with the 110Ah batteries.
How do I charge it?
Plug its charger into the scooter's charge socket and into a wall socket. Motion Healthcare's manual says to charge after each long trip, and to charge fully at least once a month.
