Before you buy a used mLite
How fast and how far does the mLite go?
Up to 4 mph, so it is a Class 2 pavement scooter. Range depends on the battery: Motion's 2020 flyer gives up to 6 miles with a 4Ah battery, and its later papers give up to 9 miles with larger batteries.
What is the maximum user weight?
18 stone (114 kg). Motion's 2020 flyer and its manual also give it as 115 kg.
How does it fold, and will it fit in my car?
It folds by hand: the floor pan slides shorter and the backrest, seat and tiller fold down onto it. Folded, it is 65 × 42 × 28 cm by Motion's 2020 flyer and manual, or 70 × 42 × 31 cm by its later flyer. Motion says it fits in a car boot or the rear footwell of most cars. The heaviest part is up to 17.9 kg.
How is it charged?
The lithium battery lifts off the floor pan, so you can charge it on the scooter or off it.
Can I take it on a plane?
Motion calls the battery air safe. Its manual sets out the Civil Aviation Authority's rules: the battery comes off and goes in the cabin, and it must not be over 300 Wh. The manual gives the 11.6Ah battery as 278.4 Wh. Each airline sets its own rules, so check with yours before you book.
