Before you buy a used Connex

How fast does the Connex go?

Up to 4 mph (6.4 km/h). That makes it a Class 2 pavement scooter.

How far will it go on a charge?

Up to 9 miles with the standard 13.4Ah lithium battery, by Motion Healthcare's figure. Motion says range varies with battery condition, weather and temperature, ground and the rider's weight. Some scooters have the optional 10.05Ah battery instead, and Motion gives no range for that one.

What is the maximum user weight?

18 stone (114 kg).

Will it go in a car?

Motion says it fits in a car boot. It folds itself at the press of a button once the seat is off, and the rear section then comes off. The heaviest part is 17.6 kg, the battery 2.5 kg and the whole scooter 35.9 kg.

Can I take it on a plane?

Only with the optional 10.05Ah battery, which Motion says is within the Civil Aviation Authority's rules. Motion says the standard 13.4Ah battery is too large. Check with the airline before you travel.
