Before you buy a used Alumina

How far will the Alumina go on a charge?

It depends on the battery: up to 10 miles with the 10Ah battery, 15 miles with the 20Ah and 30 miles with the 40Ah (Motion Healthcare's figures). The distance you get also depends on the rider's weight, hills, the weather and the state of the battery. Each listing says which battery that scooter has.

Why does each listing look different?

The Alumina was sold with three sizes of battery (10Ah, 20Ah or 40Ah) on the same frame, and the battery decides the range and the total weight. Each listing gives that scooter's battery and range.

How heavy is it to lift into a car?

It splits into up to seven parts without tools. The heaviest part is 9.9 kg, and the battery weighs 2.2, 3.2 or 5.25 kg depending on its size.

Can I take it on a plane?

Only with the 10Ah battery, which is 252 Wh, under the 300 Wh airline limit. The 20Ah and 40Ah batteries are too large. Always check with your airline before you fly.

How fast does it go, and who is it for?

Up to 4 mph, so it is a pavement scooter (Class 2). It suits shopping, days out and holidays, for riders up to 21 stone.

Will the tyres puncture?

No. The tyres are solid, and full suspension helps smooth out bumps.
