Before you buy a used Optimus 2 RS
How fast does the Optimus 2 RS go?
6, 10 or 15 km/h (3.7, 6.2 or 9.3 mph), depending on how the chair was built. Meyra's 2026 order form says the 15 km/h chair is set to 12 km/h (about 7.5 mph) at the factory. Ask us which speed a chair has.
How far will it go on a charge?
Meyra's manuals say up to 85 km (52 miles) at 6 km/h with the largest batteries; its 2017 manual says up to 45 km (27 miles) at 10 km/h with the smallest. Its current web page says up to 111 km (68 miles) for the relaunched chair. Meyra says that in everyday use you can expect 40 to 80% of these figures.
What is the maximum user weight?
150 kg (23 stone 8 lb), including up to 10 kg of luggage, or 120 kg (18 stone 12 lb) on a 15 km/h chair. It climbs obstacles up to 110 mm and slopes up to 10°.
Can it go in a car or van?
It does not fold and weighs at least 120 kg with its batteries, so it goes into a vehicle by ramp or lifting platform, as Meyra's manual describes. The leg rests come off and the backrest folds forward, and it has four marked tie-down points. The type plate on each chair shows whether it is approved as a seat in a motor vehicle: check it, or ask us.
How do I charge it?
Plug the charger into the socket on the joystick box. The charger is 24 V, 6 to 12 A, matched to the size of the batteries.
