Before you buy a used K-Lite FE
How does the K-Lite FE fold?
By itself. Press the button on the wireless key fob, or the fold button under the controls, and it folds or unfolds. Folding and unfolding have a tamper-proof lock. If the fob is missing, the buttons under the controls still work.
How fast and how far does it go?
Up to 4 mph, and up to 9.3 miles (15 km) on a charge. That is Kymco's figure; the rider's weight, hills, cold weather and an older battery all shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
120 kg (about 18 st 12 lb). Kymco's page also gives it as 19 stone.
Will it fit in my car, and how heavy is it to lift?
It folds to travel, and the seat comes off. Kymco does not give a folded size, so check it against your boot. Kymco gives the heaviest part as 22 kg, so most people will want a helper or a boot hoist.
How is it charged?
The 1.64 kg lithium battery lifts out, so you can carry it indoors and charge it there.
What is the difference between the K-Lite FE and the K-Lite F?
The FE folds itself electrically, from a key fob or the buttons under the controls. The K-Lite F is the manual-folding version: you fold it by hand. This page is the FE.
