Used Kymco K-Activ Powerchair
The Kymco K-Activ is a rear-wheel drive powerchair for indoors and out. It has a fixed frame, so it does not fold, and it has adjustable rear suspension and 14-inch pneumatic rear tyres. It goes up to 6 mph and came with either a captain's seat or a rehab seat. Kymco's papers differ on its range and weight limit, so this page shows the most cautious figures: up to 32 km (19.8 miles) and 136 kg.

How fast and how far does the K-Activ go?
Up to 6 mph (10 km/h). Kymco gives the range differently in different papers: up to 32 km (about 19.8 miles) on Kymco UK's spec table, whose miles figure says 27; 34 km in the 2014 owner's manual; and 27 miles (44 km) in Kymco's feature lists. This page shows the most cautious. The rider's weight, hills, kerbs, cold weather and older batteries all shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
This page shows 136 kg (about 21 st 5 lb), the kg figure on Kymco UK's spec table in 2022 (the same row said 25 stone). Kymco's 2014 owner's manual, Kymco Healthcare and Kymco UK's page now say 158 kg (25 stone).
What is the difference between the captain's seat and the rehab seat?
Kymco sold the K-Activ with either seat. The rehab seat adjusts in width and depth. On both, the backrest angle adjusts. Some chairs also have extras such as elevating legrests, a comfort seat cushion or a headrest.
Can it go in a car?
It does not fold, and it weighs 97 kg with its batteries (66 kg without). For travel in a vehicle it has four tie-down points in the frame, and Kymco's manual says no one should sit in it while it is being transported.
How is it charged?
On the chair. The charger plugs into a socket under the joystick. Kymco's manual says a charge normally takes about 8 hours, sometimes 8 to 12.
