Before you buy a used Morgan M

How fast does the Morgan M go, and how far?

Up to 6, 10 or 12 km/h, depending on how the chair was set up. On 50Ah batteries, Karma give the Sling-seat chair up to 27 km (16 miles). On 80Ah batteries, they give up to 39.7 km with the Versus seat and 49 km with the Sling seat, and up to 33 km for the Lectus seat (batteries not stated). These are the maker's figures for a 136 kg user on the flat with new batteries.

What is the maximum user weight?

136 kg (21 st 5 lb), whichever seat it has.

What can it climb?

Obstacles and kerbs up to 75 mm. Karma's manuals say never to drive up, down or across a slope steeper than 6 degrees.

Can I travel in a vehicle sitting in it?

The Sling-seat and Versus-seat chairs are crash tested to ISO 7176-19, for travelling seated, facing forward, in a suitable vehicle, though Karma advise moving to a vehicle seat whenever possible. We could not find Karma's crash-test statement for the Lectus seat, so ask us before relying on it.

Why are Morgan M chairs so different from each other?

Karma built the Morgan M with a choice of three seats and many options. The seat, the batteries, the speed and the powered functions all vary, and so do the size and weight. Ask us which seat and functions a chair has.
