How fast and how far does the Kensington go?

Up to 8 mph (12.8 km/h), which makes it a Class 3 road vehicle; a switch sets 4 mph for pavements. Freerider gives a range of up to 35 miles (56 km) with 50Ah batteries, and says range varies with the rider's weight, the ground, the batteries and the tyres. It gives no range for the smaller 35Ah or 36Ah batteries.

What is the maximum user weight?

160 kg (25 stone), by Freerider's figure.

What hills and kerbs can it manage?

Freerider gives a maximum safe slope of 6 degrees and a maximum kerb of 5 cm (its UK manual says 6 cm). Ground clearance is 9 cm on Freerider's current page for the model (11.5 cm in Freerider UK's manual).

How big and heavy is it?

It is 139 cm long and 63 cm wide. Freerider UK gives it as 109 kg with its batteries; other Freerider papers say 106 kg or 123 kg.

How is it charged?

Its two 12V batteries charge through a socket on the tiller, using the 5-amp charger supplied. Freerider recommends charging after each day's use.
