Before you buy a used Aerocarbon Powerchair
How heavy is the AeroCarbon Powerchair?
12 kg without its battery and 13.5 kg with it, which makes it Drive's lightest powerchair.
How far and how fast will it go?
Up to 9.5 miles (15.3 km) on a charge and up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph). The range is Drive's figure for a 100 kg rider; heavier riders, slopes, rough ground, kerbs and cold weather all shorten it.
Will it fit in my car?
It folds to 73 cm long, 31 cm wide and 76 cm high, which fits most car boots. It must not be used as a seat in a moving vehicle: move across to a car seat.
Can I take it on a plane?
Drive say its lithium battery is suitable for air travel. Airlines set their own rules for battery-powered chairs, so check with yours before you book.
What can it climb?
Slopes up to 6 degrees and kerbs up to 25 mm. It is best on smooth paths and indoors.
Is it the same as the AeroCarbon scooter?
No. Drive also make an AeroCarbon folding scooter, a different machine. This page is the powerchair, driven with a joystick.
