How narrow is the SANGO slimline?
From 530 mm wide, even with 14-inch drive wheels. Dietz's 2020 page gives up to 660 mm, depending on how the chair is set up, so measure the chair against your narrowest door.
How fast and how far does it go?
Up to 6 km/h (3.7 mph) or 10 km/h (6.2 mph), depending on how the chair was built. Dietz gives a theoretical range of up to 30 km (about 18.6 miles) on its 60Ah batteries; obstacles, rough ground, slopes, frost and frequent use of the powered functions shorten it.
What is the maximum user weight?
136 kg (21 st 5 lb). Dietz's manual gives 120 kg (18 st 12 lb) for a six-wheel chair with a seat under 44 cm deep, and the label on the chair can set a lower limit, so check it.
What can it climb?
Dietz gives a safe slope of 6 degrees and obstacles up to 60 mm, with 62 mm of ground clearance. Dietz says not to drive off anything higher than 60 mm, and to take kerbs straight on.
Can it go in a car or van?
With batteries it weighs about 135 kg, and Dietz says powered wheelchairs are too heavy to lift, so use suitable ramps to get it into a vehicle. Dietz says it is crash tested to ISO 7176-19 for travelling seated in it, secured with a 4-point tie-down, and some chairs are set up for a Dahl docking system. Dietz still advises moving to a vehicle seat where you can.
